Funny Games Clips

Funny Games is an upcoming remake of an Austrian movie. But a really special remake: the director does not change. Director Michael Haneke is still in command!
With this remake he wants to conquer the Americanpublic and to a lesser extent wants to push further his concept of Funny Games.

Here below some clips from Funny Games:

I recommend you to watch the original Austrian version for sure. But don't miss this new American version. I feel like this remake will outstrip its original!

Funny Games Official Trailer

Michael Haneke has been working on a Hollywood-style remake of his 1997 'anti-thriller' Funny Games. The film is starring Tim Roth and Naomi Watts. This remake is aimed at a US audience not familiar with Michael Haneke's work.

Here the official trailer of Funny Games:

The Plot:
"A wealthy couple is trapped and tormented in their Hamptons holiday home by a pair of vicious psychopaths."

This trailer of Funny Games with the music in background reminds me of Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece, Clockwork Orange:

Will the American public fall for Haneke's touch?
Time will tell...

Funny Games Original 1997 Austrian Movie

Funny Games 1997 As you may know Funny Games, the upcoming movie that should be released in March 2008, is actually an American remake of Austrian director Michael Haneke's movie by -guess who- Michael Haneke himself.

The original Austrian movie, although successful in Europe, did not make it in the USA.

Anyway, I think it's worth to have a look at this original version: it was indeed a quite valuable movie!

Here the trailer of Funny Games, the 1997 film:

And an extract from this Austrian movie:

I really wonder why the original movie did encounter the success expected in the USA!
